Young Communist League of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) is the youth section of New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ). SKOJ is Marxist-Leninist youth organization which was formed in 1992. All members of NKPJ from 18 until 28 years are also members of SKOJ. SKOJ is member of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY). SKOJ supports the ideology of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Stalin and consider People's Republic of China, Vietnam, North Korea, Laos and Cuba as socialist states. Headquarter of SKOJ is in Belgrade, Serbia. SKOJ have its organizations and members in Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia.

Young Communist League of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) of warmly congratulates the day of victory over fascism

On European ground, apart from the Red Army, the Yugoslav People's Liberation Army was the strongest member of the anti-fascist coalition. It was very special in the sense that, inter alia, it was founded not by a resistance movement, but by a massive popular uprising under the leadership of the communists. This popular uprising in fact created the second front in Europe.

The current government is trying to conceal by all means the truth about the heroic anti-fascist struggle. They also try to represent the anti-fascist struggle as pointless and to rehabilitate forces, which lost the war. It tries to hide historical facts, which show that the only true patriots in our country during the Second World War were the communists at the top of the Liberation Movement.

We are justifiably proud of the heroic resistance of our people under the leadership of the KPJ have done. We will continue building on the achievements of the People's Liberation War and the socialist revolution and we will protect the values that our ancestors created at great sacrifice.

True anti-fascists will never forget that the partisans under the leadership of the Communists and the Red Army, the army of the glorious Soviet Union, the first socialist state in the world, liberated our country. True patriots and anti-fascists will never forget that this fight was also the socialist revolution, which built a better society.

Never should we forget the fallen warriors and we have this heroic example. Fascism awakens again in the world in various forms. Fascism was, however, once by our fathers and grandfathers defeated and we will defeat it again.

Sekretariat of the SKOJ: May day celebrations

Activists of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) and the Communist Youth League of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) committed the day of  international solidarity of the working class with the laying of a  wreath on the grave of the Marxists Dimitrije Tucovic in Belgrade.

On this occasion tue general secretary of the party, Branko Kitanovic, spoke to the  member of the NKPJ and SKOJ. He said in a brief speech that 1 May is the day of solidarity of the international working class. He also spoke about the latest political developments in the country and criticised the agreements on accession to the stability agreement and to the imperialist EU and the reactionary elections in Serbia, which had the goal to prevent the particpation of representatives of the working class and the people.

Following the laying of the wreath the members of the NKPJ and SKOJ went to the headquarters of the party in the Namanjina Street. Fifteen members of the SKOJ went to the demonstration on the Marx-Engels-square, which was organized by the independent trade unions of Serbia (SSSS).

The trade union members welcomed the presence of activists of SKOJ and exchanged with them propaganda material. The workers were happy to see the red flag of NKPJ. Later, two activists managed to come to the stage and spread the party flag. The leadership of the trade unions instructed the activists to remove the communist symbols. The reason for the nervousness of the trade union leadership was that ten minutes before the President of Serbia, Boris Tadic, was in fact expelled by the workers from the stage. Thereafter, the activists went back to their group. The statement that communist Symbols have be removed, was not achieved.

The first of May

The working class, intelligence, farmers, pensioners, women, students we congratulate the first of May, the day of international solidarity of workers of the world.

The May 1, 2008 saw the working class of Serbia under very difficult circumstances. Almost the entire domestic economy, which for decades was built by a major effort, was sold to the international capital. The natural resources are also sold. The greater part of the population is working for domestic and foreign capitalists.

Approximately 40 000 companies have gone bankrupt.

About 50% of the working populations do not work. Closed was over 60% of industrial capacity. The new oligarchs exploit the workers and call the workers "lazy".

Governments change, but each of them has a neo-liberal concept that pushs the working class of Serbia in poverty.

Multinational corporations do not build new production plants, but use that already exists and try to exploit the employees as much as possible and to pay the smallest salaries.

The neoliberal demagogic politicians announce that a poorly paid posts is even better than none. The same politicians have hundreds of thousands of euros in its accounts. They protect the interests of the robbers of the foreign and domestic capital. The companies that are still in state hands are being systematically destroyed. They work for the modernization the production plants, but for their takeover by foreign exploiters for as little money. From the systematic robbery in social benefit individual property, while the people starving.

Today, the debt of the state is 20 billion U.S. dollars, representing 75% of national income. The local banks were destroyed. The Bologna Declaration has destroyed our school system.

Systematically, the social farms, the collective economies and small properties are sold. There are huge farms, on which the landowners force the small farmers to workers for them. All resources of the media sector are in the hands of foreign capital. We are imposed to the colonial "culture". The enemies of the working class try to destroy the unity of the proletariat in Serbia.

Our strength lies in our numerical superiority and the willingness to take us to resist the injustice. If the working class is united, enemies will not succeed.

Workers of the world unite!
Long live the 1st May, the feast of workers of the world!

No to the participation to the prison of peoples EU

Parts of the Serbian government signed in Luxembourg the shameful agreement on stabilization and the participation of our country to the EU.

With this act the signatories to the agreement accept voluntarily the imperialist occupation of Kosovo. The leading countries of the EU which have accepted the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo have participated in the aggression by the NATO on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1999. The peoples of the world will never forget the aggression of the EU and the U.S. against Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries.

The SKOJ rejected the signing of the agreement and believes that Serbia has no place in the EU, this imperialist creation and people’s prison. Serbia would be in the EU not an equal member, but the source of cheap labour force and highly educated cadres. The prospect that the Communists offer is a European federation on the basis of a socialist Europe where the people live peacefully. Only in this way Europe will go the way of the right to self-determination and true democracy.

Secretariat of NKPJ: National Betrayal

The NKPJ considers the signing of the Stabilization Agreement with the EU by Boris Tadic and Bozidar Delic as a national betrayal.

This step led by the Democratic Party (DS), is similar to the signing of the accession of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia to the three-power pact by the government Cvetkovic Macek.

It goes without saying that these treacherous acts will experience the same fate.

Sekretariat of the SKOJ-
The Hague Tribunal as instrument of the imperialist jurisprudence

The SKOJ condemns the decision of the Hague Tribunal on the release of a leading KLA terrorists and war criminal Ramu Haradinaj. This act shows that the Hague

Tribunal is only for the interests of the imperialists. The decision shows that the Western rulers give the KLA an amnesty.

In addition, the KLA was found, trained and armed by the West and served on their side in its hegemonic aspirations and the occupation of Kosovo.

The SKOJ is for the punishment for all crimes committed in the wars on the territory of the former SFRY.

Secretariat of the SKOJ: Anti-NATO Demonstration in
Belgrade

On Friday, April 4th, 2008 in the organizations of WFDY and the SKOJ, youth organization of the NKPJ held a large action against NATO in the Balkans. First in the headquarters of NKPJ a press conference was held at which the deputy secretary of the SKOJ, Marijan Kubik, and Gogon Elni from the KNE spoke.

Comrade Kubik told the participants the reason for the action: "For peace in the Balkans, against NATO bases and imperialism." He explained that the demonstrations, in Belgrade, Zagreb and in Bucharest have the goal to show the problems created by the restoration of capitalism. These are problems of youth, the imperialist secession of the southern Serbian province, and the transformation of borders in the Balkans and the deepening of national conflicts.

The young communists have decided to demonstrate against NATO because of the activities of this military organization in the region. Comrade Elni underlined that the main objective of NATO is to establish in the region governments that are loyal to their objectives. "Their goal is the business, expanding its market. They need their military to change borders, "said the comrade Gogon Elni. After the conference the activists of SKOJ together with the representatives of the WFDY from six countries a total of 22 held an anti-NATO demonstration at the monument of Dimitri Tucovic. The participants met with the Portuguese Tiago Viera, General secretary of the WFDY and Igor Petrovic, a member of the Secretariat of the SKOJ. The demonstrators wanted to go to the U.S. Embassy, but police held them back. The police later agreed to the demonstration through the streets of King Milan. In the Nemanjina Street they remembered the NATO aggression on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in1999. After the demonstration the representatives of the WFDY went to their buses and went to Zagreb to the Socialist Youth Federation (SOS).

In the delegation of the WFDY were representatives of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), the Democratic Youth of Cyprus (EDON), the Hungarian Communist Youth, the Communist Youth Portugal (JCP) and the young communists Italy (CG).

For the United Front of communists, anti-imperialists and patriots

After the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo with the help of western imperialism, under the leadership of the United States , the citizens of Serbia will vote on 11 May 2008 for a new parliament.

Large differences in opinion between the neoliberal parties led to the end of their coalition. The coming elections show again, the bitter truth that Karl Marx said, when he realized that the exploiters allow the exploited once in several years to choose who will represent them in the parliament.

In this sense, in Serbia is still one of the most reactionary election laws in use, which makes it real representatives of the working class impossible to participate in the elections. The Communist Youth League of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) requires a response of all progressive and left forces and the formation of a united front, which will resist to the bourgeois tyranny and self-rule. This front must be formed by communists, anti-imperialists and patriots and they have to resist to imperialism and predatory capitalism. Only the united front will give our working class and our people the true freedom!

The bourgeoisie belongs to the past! Forward to socialism! For socialism until victory!

No to the imperialist change of borders in the Balkans

The SKOJ (Communist Youth League of Yugoslavia) rejects the imperialist change of borders in the Balkans in view of the unilateral and illegal declaration of "independence" of the southern Serbian province of Kosovo , under the patronage of the United States and the European Union.

The proclamation of the independence of Kosovo is unilateral, illegal and contrary to the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia and of Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council.

In Kosovo, the imperialists have an occupation policy which will lead to the resistance of the people. The leading foreign companies, which have the domination of the major industries, are led by people who played the major role in the dismantling of Yugoslavia and the secession of Kosovo (Madeleine Albright, former US Secretary of State, William Walker former leader of the OEBS in Kosovo, Bernard Kushner former head of the UNMIK.)

The nine-year occupation policy in Kosovo will destroy all the achievements made during the past five decades as the Kosovo had the support of the whole SFRY. The proof is the fact that 73% of the working population is unemployed, and that half of the unemployed are under 35 years old. In all parts of Kosovo is only a third of electricity generated than in the year 1999. The factories are working either not at all or only with a fraction of their capacity. A major problem for Kosovo is also the organized crime and corruption and the threat of elementary human rights. The main industries are in the hands of the NATO occupiers.

The existing Situation is not in the interests of the people, it represents only the imperialist-expansionist aims of NATO. The goal of policy, which several international "peace commission" are making, is the further strengthening of the existing situation in accordance with the principle of "divide and conquer". The state organs of the Republic of Serbia have a duty to do everything possible to secure the territorial unity of the country, and have to take all legal, diplomatic, economic and political measures against states that support the unilateral

Declaration of independence of Kosovo. Serbia has the full right and the responsibility to defend its sovereignty and integrity. In contrast to this, all the steps of the Serbian state organs will be just empty rhetoric and the decision of the Government of Serbia on the non-recognition of the Kosovo will end with its nullification. The recognition of the illegal secession of Kosovo from the EU and the United States have shown the real objectives of the aggression on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1999. Only the creation of an alliance between the Albanian and Serbian working class in Kosovo and their resistance against the expansionist policies of the United States and the EU will secure lasting peace.

Kosovo is an integral part of Serbia and will remain!

Pyrrhic victory of the neoliberal approach

With the help of government media and the support of the Western imperialists headed by the United States , the pro-imperialist presidential candidate, Boris Tadic, president of the Democratic Party (DS) realized his pyrrhic victory.

The SKOJ (Communist Youth League of Yugoslavia) draws attention to the fact that these elections were conducted in accordance with rules that prefer bourgeois parties. This is another classic example of discrimination. Moreover, these elections have shown that the lack of leftist candidates a large part of the epresentatives of socialism voted for the candidate of the Radical Party (RS) Tomislav Nikolic. These were voices of protest against the neo-liberal policies of the Serbian government, which is dominated by the Democratic Party of President Tadic. Tadic is fully in line with the western imperialism, which is against the interests of the working people of our country. Boris Tadic works with intensity on the accession of our country to the European Union and the criminal NATO military alliance, which made the aggression on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1999. Serbia 's accession to the European Union and NATO is to the interests of our people directly opposite. The states of the European Union and the United States are calling to the separation of Kosovo from Serbia . The NATO has this part of Serbia already occupied. The pro imperialist and neoliberal policy, of President Tadic, adds the state and the people a lot of harm. It is therefore in the interest of the working class, that Boris Tadic as short as possible remains in power. The response of the working class of Serbia must decisively and quickly. All progressive and patriotic elements under the leadership of the communists must form a united front against imperialism and neo-liberalism. The SKOJ understands the importance of this step and agitates for the action unity of all progressive and patriotic forces. The first step in this direction is the joint commencement of the progressive and patriotic forces in the local elections.

The honest patriots in our latitudes are the communists headed by the NKPJ ( New Communist Party of Yugoslavia). This is the first step in the struggle for the liberation of labour from the capitalist oppression.

REPRESANTIVE OF THE GREEK COMMUNIST YOUTH VISITED THE SKOJ

As a guest at SKOJ the secretary for international connections of the Greek Communist Youth (KNE), Comrade Kostas Papadakis, remained three days in Serbia. He met with the leadership of SKOJ and NKPJ.

The topic of discussion was the regional action of the World Federation of democratic youth (WFDY), the organization that collects the communist youth around the world . The SKOJ is the only organization on the territory of the former SFRY which is member of the WFDY. The WFDY is about the number of members the largest youth organization in the world.

The KNE is in the words of Comrade Kostas Papadakis coordinator of the WFDY action of solidarity in the Balkans which will be held under the slogan "Peaceful Balkans are those without NATO,bases and imperialism“.

This action was hald during the period from 4 to 6 April in Zagreb, Belgrade and Bucharest (where at this time NATO meetings were held). The aim of this action is to stimulate and strengthen the anti-NATO movement in the Balkans in response to the presence of this aggressiv pact in the region and the long occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Kosovo. In addition to the comrades from the Balkan countries, representatives from almost all of Europe's communist youth organizations will join this action. This is the largest regional action of this kind since the imperialist destruction of the SFRY.

Comrade Papadakis has wished us in the name of the central comitee of KNE much of success in the further work, the strengthening of SKOJ and new successes on all fronts.

On the last day, he had the opportunity at the dinner with the leadership of SKOJ in the restaurant "Korcagin" in Belgrade to get to know members of SKOJ and share experiences

YOUNG COMMUNIST LEAGUE OF YUGOSLAVIA (SKOJ) - 16 YEARS FIGHTING FOR THE INTERESTS OF WORKING CLASS

Full 16 years, the Young Communist League of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) is fighting for socialism and for the renewal of our homeland, the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia. The predatory process of privatization, which started in its worst form after the counterrevolutionary coup on 5. 10. 2000, led to an unemployment figure of one million and brought us the position of the poorest country in Europe. This situation, called as the "transformation" of Serbia, the SKOJ wants to change. Under these circumstances, the strength of SKOJ, which is led by the ideas of Marxism-Leninism, of proletarian internationalism, anti-imperialism and socialist patriotism, is growing from day to day. In the streets of the major cities of Serbia, Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, etc., you can see the results of the actions of our youth association. With pride we can say that the SKOJ is the vanguard of progressive youth in Serbia in the fight against privatization (the SKOJ doesn't make a difference between "fair" and unfair privatization, because both represent a robbery), against the accession of our country to NATO and EU, and against the imperialist occupation of Kosovo and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The SKOJ doesn't recognize the destruction of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and is fighting for the renewal of the SFRY, our only homeland, which was destroyed provisionally by western imperialism. SKOJ organizations exist and are from day to day more in Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Last year, the organizations of SKOJ in Croatia and Slovenia strengthened, which makes us very proud. The SKOJ implemented and intensified international cooperation and is the only organization in our latitudes member of the World Federation of democratic youth, which continues with the traditions of the Communist Youth International. The SKOJ is follwing the way the classics of the scientific socialism, Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Stalin have preconditioned, and supports the socialist countries of China, Vietnam, the Korean Democratic People's Republic, Laos and Cuba. We give our full support to bolivarian socialist revolution, which is taking place in the Latin American countries headed by the shining example of the countries Venezuela and Bolivia. The SKOJ supports the struggle of the Russian communists against the dictatorial bourgeois regime of Vladimir Putin and condemnes the attack of the western imperialism to the independence and integrity of the Russian Federation, which manifests in the aggressive expansion of NATO and the European Union. Only the renewal of the USSR makes the destruction of the "new world order", headed by the United States, possible. The SKOJ currently requires the withdrawal of the occupying forces of western imperialism from Iraq and Afghanistan. The SKOJ is fighting primarily against imperialism, fascism and globalism in every place where reactionary symptoms manifest. The SKOJ is the fist of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ), the only Marxist-Leninist party in our latitudes, and the vangarde of the Yugoslav working class. The SKOJ stands for the renewal of Yugoslavia, the destruction of imperialism, fascism and globalism and will fight this struggle in the upcoming period with an even greater zeal and undiminished faith in the victory and the liberation of the proletariat from capitalism.

Long live the SKOJ!

Long live the NKPJ!

Long live Marxism-Leninism!

Long live the proletarian Internationalism!

Let's fight for the renewal of socialist Yugoslavia!

PROTEST IN FRONT OF THE USA EMBASSY IN BELGRADE

More than one hundred activists of New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) and the League of the Communist Youth (SKOJ) together with members of the Serb-Cuban Friendship Association Ivo Lola Ribar - Ernesto Che Guevara, and other friends of Cuba, on Thursday 18 May, in spite of a heavy shower, protested in front of the Embassy of the USA in Belgrade against the decision of a US Court to let the terrorist and notorious CIA collaborator Posada Carriles free.

The protest meeting was held in order to support the action entitled “Posada Carriles must be judged for his crimes”. The campaign is going on vehemently all over the world. Carriles took part to the destruction of Cuban airplanes, and in those occasions 73 human beings lost their lives (for this crime, extradition is demanded by Venezuela, but the USA do not allow it); for decades he organized the plans for the attacks against Cuban leaders and exponents of the Cuban revolution, and realized several terroristic actions against Cuba which caused tens of Cubans to perish.

From this protest meeting, the message has been sent that for Cubans as well as for all progressive persons it is unacceptable that one of the best-known terrorists who ever existed on the American hemisphere is liberated, while the five young Cubans whose only crime is their fight against terrorism are remaining in jail under barbaric conditions В (this is about the Cuban patriots who unmasked the terrorist net of the Cuban anti-communist emigration in Florida, and that the US government without any reason accused of espionage, even if it has been proved that they didn't commit any anti-American action, but only cared of discovering the Cuban terrorist emigration net).

The demonstrators gathered in front of the US embassy carried the flags of the NKPJ and Cuba together with images of Ernesto Che Guevara, shouting “Yankees Go Homeв” (to protest against the US base at Guantanamo, on Cuban territory, but also against the imperialist occupation of Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Irak and Afghanistan by NATO) and calling “Fidel, Fidel”. The employees of the US embassy refused to take a protest letter that the demonstrators wanted to give them, and therefore this letter has been sent per mail to Michael Polt, US ambassador to Belgrade .

Jail for the terrorist Carriles!

Freedom for the five Cuban heroes!

Down with US imperialism!

MAY DAY STATEMENT

of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia and the League of the Communist Youth of Yugoslavia

To the working class, the intellectuals, the agrarian workers, to retired people, to the students, the scholars, those belonging to the armed forces and the police - to all of them we convey our best wishes on the occasion of 1st May - the day of the solidarity of all the workers of the world!

1st May 2007 our people are living in the most difficult circumstances, full of onerous meanings for our native land.

Already 16 years ago, the USA and European Union imperialists in collaboration with the fifth column and separatists resolved to disintegrate Yugoslavia and provoked a bloody civil war that cancelled so many human lives, caused frightful destructions and haunted millions of citizens away from their houses.

Eight years ago, NATO soldiery performed a delinquent aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, killing several thousands of our citizens, causing permanent illnesses in tens of thousands of persons, destroying many sanitary institutions and centers, religious places, schools, bridges, railways, let alone many industries, causing to our country damages that amount to more than 100 billions of dollars.

Allied with the Albanian terrorists, NATO occupied Kosovo and Metohija in a criminal way, killing thousands, driving out 250000 serbs, gypsies and other non-albanians.

For the main defenders of the integrity and the sovereignty of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, as well as for those who resisted to NATO, Washington, London, Brussels and Berlin created an inquisition called the Hague Tribunal, which is aimed to make the heroic defenders pay the bills back in a cruel way. This court killed Slobodan Milosevic in a subtle way. NATO countries forged with the iron and fire and hundred thousands of dollars a new power in the former yugoslav republics.

The NATO, with the Montenegro separatists, in 2006 destroyed the federation between Serbia and Montenegro , what remained of Yugoslavia .

In the past seven years since the counter-revolution took place in Serbia , this has become the poorest country in Europe .

The economy that our grandfathers, our parents and we ourselves tried to promote for entire decades has been sold out almost completely to foreign capital and domestic Mafias. Our natural resources are put up for auction. The overwhelming majority of the citizens is indeed becoming exploited working class and poor labor force, and must ask the capitalists - both foreigners or our own - for a job. More than 40 thousand companies are bankrupting. More than 50 per cent of the people in working age are unemployed. More than 60 per cent of the industries and mines have been closed.

The army is being reduced to a symbolic number and its technical abilities have been mainly destroyed. The highest State managers, let alone the Minister of the Defense, declare that they will not defend the integrity of the State, and will send the army to the Middle East instead, in the middle the Afghanistan cliffs, to combat for the sake of the imperialist aims of NATO. Those who do not support the army to be truly ours, they themselves will help making war.

All the conquests of our Liberation Struggle have been destroyed systematically, and all the fruits of the Socialism too.

The hasty running into debts of our country towards the exterior goes on. Already today, State debt has exceeded 20 million dollars, that represent 75% of the national product. Domestic Banks have been suppressed.

The application of the Bologna Declaration has destroyed our scholastic system.

Public and private agricultural enterprises, cooperative firms as well as peasants owning small ground-pieces are systematically ruined. A latifundium (large estate) system is being created, made of many tens of thousands hectares where the new owners transform peasants in laborers.

Nearly all the media are directly or indirectly under foreign control.

We are going through the systematic destruction of our identity; culture is being imposed to us, our history is being barbarically reviewed and rewritten.

With every mean, NATO countries want to steal Kosmet from Serbia and create on this territory another Albanian State in the Balkans.

And, in spite of all this, State leaders still declare that their strategic objectives consist in the integration in the euro-Atlantic pacts - that is, to agree to become servants and to be dominated by those who destroyed the socialist Yugoslavia as well as the federal Yugoslavia and occupied Kosmet.

The main enemy of our people and our native land are the leaders of the United States , England , Germany and France . These are trying with all their force to disintegrate Serbia , announcing that it is in their intentions to support the secession of Vojvodina, Raska region, and provinces in the south of Serbia like Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.

Isn't it absurd the inclination of the governmental circles in Serbia to make our country approach NATO, the European Union, closing the eyes in front of all the misfortunes that these organizations have caused to us as well as in front of their brazen attempt to tear up Kosmet from us?

Our historical friend was and still is fraternal Russia , whose soldiers repeatedly poured blood and lives, together with us, for our freedom, independence and integrity. Our main guideline should be the demand for aid from Russia , China , Belarus , from Cuba , from Greece , India , the Ukraine , Vietnam , North Korea , as well as from Latin America and the other freedom-loving countries of Asia and Africa , and from the progressive countries in the Arabic world.

NATO IS OUR ENEMY, THE EUROPEAN UNION WANTS US TO BECOME ALL SERVANTS.

Serbia should work together with all those that respect it and deal with it like a partner, those who respect its independence, its sovereignty and the integrity of the country.

Until well-nourished and starving individuals will exist on this world, rich and poor, free and enslaved - also the idea of social justice will stay alive. And social justice does not exist without Socialism!

THAT XXI CENTURY BE THE CENTURY OF THE TRIUMPH OF THE SOCIALISM!

PROLETARIANS OF ALL COUNTRIES, UNITE!

LONG LIVE MAY DAY, THE FESTIVITY OF THE WORKERS OF THE ENTIRE WORLD!

STATEMENT OF THE SECRETARIAT OF SKOJ

Concerning the words of the German ambassador in Serbia

GET RID OF ZOBEL, SPOKESPERSON OF IMPERIALISM

The League of the Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) believes that, declaring that Serbia could be deprived of Vojvodina and Sandzak, the German ambassador in Belgrade Andreas Zobel did not just exceed the limits of its mandate, but also demonstrated clearly to be the megaphone of German and western imperialism, thus deserving the expulsion from the country.

The parallelism drawn by imperialists between the presumed occupation of Kosovo, on one side, and the one of Vojvodina and Sandzak, on the other, represents a rough attack to the territorial integrity of Serbia let alone a brutal interference in the inner affairs of our country.
The statements by ambassador Zobel are scandalous, and no country with an own dignity and sovereignty would have tolerated such a behavior.

Accepting Zobel excuses and his explanation that it was a matter of ”private opinion” is more than ingenuous, since it is evident that those are the stands of German and western imperialism. All this demonstrates the true nature of the peoples' prison called the European Union, under whose "protection" we are being forced by the pro-imperialist and pro-capitalist regime enforced in Serbia.

Zobel's declaration is a slap to the counterrevolutionary Serbian regime, which tries to convince us since 2000 that Serbia is becoming a country respected by the West and that it will not be subjected to blackmails any more.

SKOJ firmly protests for the low-profile reaction to Zobel's statement by the present bourgeois regime of Serbia, which did not call for Zobel's immediate expulsion (apart from some marginal political forces which have no real infuence on the political scene), so clearly showing its pro-imperialist character. The power in Serbia behaved as a colonial governorship and does neither deserve the support of the population nor that of the Serbian working class.
We say loudly: NO to a Europe that is nothing but a one-class tyranny wrapped in a silvery tinfoil.

STATEMENT OF THE SECRETARIAT OF SKOJ

SKOJ (League of Yugoslavian Communist Youth), a part of the NKPJ (New Communist Party of Yugoslavia), will not take part to the next parliamentarian elections in Serbia, which are held on the base of a law that directly smashes the fundamental democratic principles and norms and was formulated in line with the criteria of the bourgeois parties, which only want to extend their own power.

The SKOJ and the NKPJ carried out widely discussions for the creation of a Leftist Front, as the only viable solution in the fight against the block of injustice held in power by the bourgeois regime, and as the only viable solution for the creation of a true popular and democratic government. The SKOJ and the NKPJ have carried out this dialogue in the interest of the working people, which are asking for changes.
Leaders' vanity and distrust by somebody prevailed over the interest of the working class. For this reason, it will not be possible in these elections either that a true and determined leftist organization enters the scene, an organization able to contrast the existing bourgeois regime; because, unfortunately, the one which participates to the elections behaved like a cooperating "opposition”, collateral to this regime, in the past parliamentary phase.

In the view of SKOJ, the way in which the participants to the new parliamentarian elections lead their campaign is not surprising. The majority of the parties have been or still are a part of the governmental coalition, or they are satellites, and are now promising something that they never did when they had the occasion to. Some clearly right-wing parties adopt social-Communist programs for mere demagogic reasons, even if they use to boast themselves of their anti-Communism. The elections will demonstrate clearly what is the situation of our country; a situation towards which the country has been pushed by the two previous governments, after the bourgeois and pro-imperialist revolution of October 5th (2000, tn.). These are the very same parties which are boasting themselves of the “achievements”; those "achievements" which are clearly perceived, on the own shoulders, by the working class, whose greater part remained without job. Regarding the parties' race to force us into that peoples' prison which is called “European Union”, only their mentors have reasons to be happy - those coming from the formations of the national tycoons as well as the representatives of the world multinational companies. This is clearly demonstrated by the smaller and smaller participation (of the people to the "race towards the EU", tn.).

NKPJ and SKOJ remain committed to an open and unitary fight of all progressive forces, and for a new socialist perspective for our country. One of the steps in this direction is the preparation of the next regional elections in Serbia.

Socialism is the future!

STATEMENT OF THE SECRETARIAT OF THE NKPJ: THE ELECTORAL LAW IN SERBIA VIOLATES THE HUMAN RIGHTS

The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) will boycott the next parliamentarian elections of Serbia, because the electoral law clearly smashes the fundamental democratic principles and the Universal Declaration on Human Rights. Indeed, the law for the greater part of the citizens kills the anonymous character of the poll, since it demands that at least 10 thousand individuals declare in front of the Court that they will vote for a certain party. For these signatures, and for the civil employees that have to convalidate them, one has to pay. This means that those who do not have the money to pay the Court tax cannot take part to the electoral procedure. It is also evident that giving a signature with all signer's personal information can be dangerous or at least disliked to many citizens.

Moreover, nearly 40 per cent of the Serbian citizens live in places where Courts simply do not exist. All these people are practically prevented from participating to the signatures' collection, and therefore to the electoral process altogether. In third place, the activity of the Court civil employees for the validation of the signatures is not clearly regulated, and the Courts do often complain about not having enough personal for this job, which causes some party to be favorite and some other to be discriminated.

All this look like certain Solone's laws, which stated that the rich has more rights than the poor, that is: the money goes proportionally to the census...

AGAINST ILLEGALIZATION OF KSM

We express our strongest condemnation of the outrageous decision by the Czech government to ban the KSM. It is a decision that violates openly elementary democratic rights and fundamental freedoms.

These actions, rooted on political and ideological discrimination, can only be considered as part of an unjust , anti-democratic and anti-communist campaign, that seeks to restrict the freedom of association and expression of the Czech Republic's people and, in particular, of its youth. These campaigns are anti-civilization, shame action against democracy, freedom of mind and speak.

Lastly, we want to send a strong communist hug to the KSM, and we offer ourselves struggle against illegalization and transforming the communist movement into a crime.

The Czech Government started the process almost half a year ago, in December of 2005. Through lies and absurd charges, they began a campaign for deceiving to the public opinion, in order to prepare the future actions. Far from being an isolated event, this is happening within a framework of a European campaign to transform communism
into a crime, and even in the Council of Europe a resolution has been approved.
Long live the KSM!
Long live international solidarity!
Long live the international young communist movement!

NATO GO HOME!!!

The League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia condemns most severely the latest decision to establish US military bases with the excuse of "strengthening peace and security" in our country and the false assertion that only Serbia and Belarus have no US military bases on their territory.

This decision completes the process of total occupation of our country that began with the elections of 5 October 2000. Serbia did not subscribe to this at Rambouillet, but tried to safeguard her independence and freedom. But the same result is now being accomplished by the current pro-imperialist bourgeois regime, which enjoys the support of barely 4% of the people.

Acceptance "in its totality and unconditionally" of the demand of the USA, a country which is terrorizing the whole world with its wars in the interest of its own capitalist system. The agreement clearly provides jurisdiction to US courts alone for crimes committed by American soldiers on our territory. In practice that means absolute lawlessness and a mockery of justice.

In Macedonia and Bosnia-Herzegovina dozens of citizens have lost their lives in traffic accidents involving USA forces stationed on "peace missions" in those countries. Not one person has been penalized. Soldiers of the USA carried out the most barbarous crimes in their war on Yugoslavia in 1999 and no one was held responsible! Should we cave into this American view of justice? Should we have faith in the murderers of our people in their 78 day war? Should we put our faith in those who in the past 50 years did not bat at eye at killing children, old people and women in the course of 300 military interventions all over the whole planet?

Imperialism we will not have! Only by referendum of the people will we allow the presence of any kind of US forces in our country! It is absolutely clear that citizens of Serbia will never approve any treaty with the NATO Pact in any referendum. We will never allow our country to enter into NATO membership.

SECRETARIAT STATEMENT OF THE LEAGUE OF YUGOSLAV COMMUNIST YOUTH (SKOJ)

The League of Yugoslav Communist Youth (SKOJ) most severely condemns the scandalous declaration of Martti Ahtisaari, UN Special Envoy for the Question of Kosovo and Metohia according to which "the Serbian people is guilty and must pay the price for its historical mistakes".

Such an assertion by the UN Special Envoy represents an obvious and intentional provocation by which openly seeks fear and provokes anxiety in regulating the future status of Kosovo and Metohia. The League of Yugoslav Communist Youth (SKOJ) has been from the very beginning against every and any negotiation of Kosovo being under NATO pact occupation. Ahtisaari’s remark shows that western imperialism in Kosovo and Metohia is behaving like an occupier and that the "negotiation process" is a bald-faced lie to give full legitimacy to the occupation.

Ahtisari’s remark made in the course of discussions with the Serbian negotiating team is utterly unacceptable and uncivilized. In all history there has been only one person who made such an assertion. And that was Adolf Hitler. Who condemned the Jewish people as "to blame for everything".

We remember well the "noble peace mission" of Martti Ahtisaari in 1999, when, with the threat of total destruction of Belgrade and Serbia on a "take it or leave it" basis, he compelled the then government of Serbia to sign the Kumanovo accord by which Kosovo and Metohia was occupied and turned into NATO’s biggest military base.

There is no nation that can be guilty of collective guilt. In the siege of Leningrad the whole Finnish Army of Karelia participated with 300,000 troops. In this blockade more than a million citizens of Leningrad died. Does that mean that the Finnish people as a whole are genocidal?  Yes, by Ahtisaari’s logic.

In Kosovo and Metohia there wasn’t any aggression by the "Greater Serbia" or the Army of Yugoslavia, because it was obliged by its constitution to defend its own territory. The Army of Yugoslavia did not invade Iraq or Afghanistan, but only defended its own territory. Unfortunately, there were violations of the Geneva Convention for which individuals in the army and police of federal Yugoslavia were tried.  The crimes of individuals or small groups cannot be the justification for condemning a whole people

The escalation of conflict in Kosovo and Metohia in 1998.-99 was without a doubt directed by the western imperialists with the goal of occupying that part of the Balkans and turning it into a training ground.  NATO’s occupation of Kosovo and Metohia has in no way contributed to peace or development of prosperity, but has totally nullified the results that were achieved in the five and a half decades when Kosovo by its own efforts and the support of all Yugoslavia realized significant progress in all fields. Over 73% inhabitants of Kosovo is unemployed, and all major economic branches are in the hands of the NATO occupiers, who freely dispose of and reap the benefit of whatever was created in the interest of the people of Kosovo and Metohia in the course of the past  55 years. Kosmet has been turned into a nest of world terrorism, black marketing and mafia.

It is clear that the existing state of occupation is not conducive to the real and lasting interests of the peoples that live in Kosovo. It is all acceptable only to the imperial expansionist goals of NATO.

The goal of the policy conducted by certain international "peace" commissions is a further deepening of the crisis by the principle of "divide and conquer", with the goal of further occupation of this part of the Balkans. It is hypocritical of the representatives of the pro-imperialist bourgeois regime in Belgrade to excuse Ahtisaari for his gaffe. By this the government of Serbia expresses its fake bourgeois patriotism, which won’t fool the people of Serbia. The government of Serbia also shows political shortsightedness, because it is obvious that in case  Ahtisaari apologizes, which is hardly to be expected, the policy of separating Kosovo from Serbia and the total legalization of the occupation by western imperialism, of which Ahtisaari is the ambassador, will not be changed.

If the government of Serbia were really to behave patriotically, it would clearly show that Kosovo and Metohia are occupied territory and demand that all foreign occupation troops should leave its territory. To us in SKOJ it is clear that nothing of the sort can be expected from this or any other bourgeois pro-imperialist government.

Enough Robbery!
Action for the Rights of Working People!

The Government of Serbia is boasting about its successes in bringing over 1.8 billion euros into the budget through privatization. What successes are they talking about? Nearly all the property sold off is the fruit of decades-long labour and sacrifice of the working class, which has lost everything through this corruption-ridden privatization

Total industrial output is less than in 1990. The trend of further decline continues. All the proceeds come from the sell-off of property created by longsuffering labour in socialist construction.

About 30% of the people are unemployed, mostly the young. More people have left the country in then past 6 years than in the previous ten. Most affected are the young and highly educated cadres.  Our foreign debt has reached a figure over 14 billion dollars.

It is clear that our country lives off the fruits of socialism, which the bourgeois proimperialist regime is selling off at bargain basement prices. The present power structure, like the previous one, has not built a single significant economic project in 6 years. Everything that has been built was built during socialism. The bourgeois pro-imperialist regime does not shrink even from selling off natural riches and vital economic assets -- mines, spas, water sources, forests, hunting grounds, and roads- all just to pay the costs of keeping themselves in power.

The policy of  destroying economic systems and their sale to foreigners or breaking them up into little enterprises that can easily be privatized in contradiction of modern management principles, which call for strengthening and integrating economic capacities. It seems everything is going to beome a mere source of raw materials and cheap, underpaid labour force. All this to the profit of multi-national companies that stop at nothing to maximize profits.

What is happening is generalized plunder!

There is no such thing as honest privatization, nor can there be. The privatization of state, social property and that of co-operative society and co-ops is legalized robbery. This government is creating a class of profiteers and tycoons at the cost of the working class and working people of our country

While the government fills the pockets of the domestic mafia, working people are dying of hunger. This is democracy to the taste of this government and their allies in the opposition!

Talk of economic successes and kilometers of paved roads is all part of the deceitful propaganda used by this government to conceal the economic Titanic that is carrying us to total collapse.

Proletarians, farmers, the unemployed and members of the honest intelligentsia, in this moment of monolithic unity of advancing international and Serbian bourgeoisie in their "privatization" must create an even more monolithic unity of all progressive forces to put a stop to injustice and confiscation. It is necessary for the working class of Serbia to unite with the exploited all around the world.

Let us act for Socialism! For peace, for a better future and for social justice!

To Embassy of Israel and USA

HALT THE CRIME –
STOP THE AGGRESSION ON LEBANON AND PALESTINE

League of Yugoslav Communist Youth-SKOJ most severely condemn criminal and illegal aggression of the Israeli government against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples carried out through crimes against the civilian population.

These Middle Eastern developments are a direct consequence of the continued Israeli occupation of Palestine and of criminal aggression on Lebanon. Constant violations of every possible humanitarian law and total lack of any glimpse of a permanent and just political solution clearly implies that aggressive policies of Israel are a clear and present danger to peace and security in the Middle East. It is international community’s, especially UN’s, duty to take efficient measures to halt expansionistic policies of Israel.

Brutal crime committed in the Lebanese village of Kana, where a large number of civilians and a total of 37 children were killed, is a horrific example of international law violations by Israel and it deserves condemnation and must not go unpunished.

This aggression and occupation would not be possible without the unconditional support of imperialistic United States of America to the Zionists in Israeli government. Under their protection, Israel has become a bastion of imperialism in the Middle East.

Israeli military action is of no benefit to the peoples of the Middle East but only to the imperialistic circles led by the USA and their final goal of domination of the region.

Given the rights of every nation to fight with every means necessary for their national liberation and self-determination, we give our full-hearted support to the fight of Palestinian people for liberation and to the Lebanese nation in defending their independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

SKOJ are for just, complete and permanent solution.

And therefore we demand:

A complete withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from Palestinian territories; recognition of the Palestinian right to self-determination including their right to their own sovereign country and independence. We also call for an immediate stop to all military operations against Lebanon and a stop to all outside pressures on Syria. This is the only way - by total respect and recognition of sovereignty and territorial integrity of ALL Middle Eastern states and nations - to achieve conditions for a complete and permanent solution and a truly just peace.

The NCPY was very sorry to learn that you were not well, dear comrade Fidel Castro Ruiz, and I am writing to send you our heartiest wishes for a speedy recovery.

Get well soon! - to the benefit of socialist Cuba and its people, as well as to the benefit of the international community.

Get well soon! - to the greatest dismay of compradoras and their lords, who spare no fascist tricks in their attempt to restore the colonial order in Cuba, the island of freedom and liberty.

STOP THE PRIVILEGES!

The proposal that members of National Assembly be pensioned off after two mandates in the parliament at age 55 or 35 years of work service, is the worst form of hypocrisy and ridicule over the fate of millions of poor and unemployed citizens of this country. This is but another attempt to acquire privileges in a country where the overwhelming majority of citizens lives on the margins of poverty and the nation from day to day sinks into crisis of debt.

This sort of proposal, at the time when 35% of able bodied population is unemployed, when almost half the unemployed are youth and when a million, mostly young and highly educated people have left the country, is totally unjustified, hypocritical and irresponsible. Today, over 60% of retirees receives pensions lower than the average and those fortunate enough to be working, can go into retirement under extremely difficult and worsening conditions.

Instead of being of service to the people, our deputies are placing themselves above the interests of their own people to whom they were offering the "promised land" in their election campaigns and now do not want to share the fate of the people whom they have turned into beggars. The Serbian bourgeois parliament is currently only fighting to secure ever more privileges for its deputies and prolong the existence of a government which has lost the support of its citizenry.

The Serbian Parliament is probably the most expensive one in Europe and our deputies the most privileged. While numbers of soup kitchens for the poor in Serbia diminishes by the day, our deputies are dining in parliamentary restaurants at exceptionally low prices, receive enormous financial compensations and above average salaries. Practically all deputies are financially secure with residences and attempts to acquire new privileges are the most gruesome crime against the citizens of this country who are waging a bitter daily struggle for bare existence.

The Serbian bourgeois parliament is the greatest catastrophe which has come upon us. Our country has recovered from the devastation of the Second World War faster and better than it could from the rule of a disaster bound parliament, creating a European Argentina out of this country.

Before all of us is the battle to demolish the regime imposed on us, which insults and plunders us. Before us is the struggle for the parliament of the people and for the people, to which the realization of interests of the overwhelming majority is the most sacred task and goal.

SECRETARIAT STATEMENT OF THE LEAGUE OF YUGOSLAV COMMUNIST YOUTH (SKOJ)

League of Yugoslav Communist Youth (SKOJ) most seriously condemn the criminal and illegal aggression of Israeli Zionistic state against Palestinian people and against the territory of sovereign states of Syria and Lebanon.

SKOJ ask for an immediate release of arrested representatives of the Palestinian government who were illegally apprehended by Israeli army with a clear intent of overthrowing the legally and legitimately elected government. We demand urgent pull-back of Zionistic occupation troops from the Gaza territory. The murder of more than twenty civilians in Gaza is a horrendous crime that needs to be condemned by the entire international community.

The state of Israel is committing an atrocity by murdering innocent children, women and elderly and also by leaving millions of Palestinians without any water or food. This brutal and criminal aggression could not be possible without unconditional support of the American imperialism.

The only clear solution to resolve this middle-eastern problem is unconditional and immediate withdrawal of Israeli occupational troops and unconditional and immediate recognition of the Palestinian state.

SECRETARIAT STATEMENT OF THE LEAGUE OF YUGOSLAV COMMUNIST YOUTH (SKOJ)

Six months after the vote of the anti-communist Council of Europe's Resolution, the parliament of the Republic of Croatia (Sabor further in the text) has adopted a similar, equally incongruous Resolution, condemning “the communist crimes" of the 1945-1990 periods.

Croatia is the first of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia's (SFRJ) republics to adopt the anti-communist Resolution. With regard to the very bad economic situation in Croatia, such a political act is not a bit surprising. It is just one more trick of the current regime to detour the public attention from the revolutionary momentum in Croatia.

What crimes are they talking about? Was it a crime to put on trial the perpetrators of the most horrible crimes committed in the NDH, “the “Independent Croatia State” of the Second World War? Was it crime to sentence the Nazis criminals to death and long prison sentences?  Does the bourgeois regime in Zagreb expect us to believe the NDH was a peace-loving state? What is the Croatian Sabor (Parliament) hoping to prove?

In the Second World War, after dismembering of Yugoslavia, a parastate was formed calling itself “Independent Croatia State”.

In his "state" the most awful crimes were perpetrated by it's regime with the helping hand of the Catholic Church. Let us note the infamous Ustasha death factory Jasenovac. So it was a crime to convict those who took part in the crime!

Falling in line with the actual EU neo-McCarthysm, the Croatian pro-imperialist puppets are just diverting attention from the Croatia's burning problems. Proof of this is the fact the Croatian Sabor has not in any way moved to rehabilitate the victims of political torture on Goli Otok.

After the liberation of the country, the peoples of Yugoslavia under communist leadership turned to Socialism and began with great enthusiasm build a new life. On that nearly half-century long road, significant results were achieved in the economic and social fields, in health, education, culture, science defense and sports. Yugoslavia reached a remarkable level of development.

So, does the Croatian Sabor consider these achievements to be “criminal legacy”? At the same time the Croatian Sabor adopted a resolution on “Operation Storm (Oluja)” characterized as “victorious and liberating”.

Croatian Sabor magnifies the fratricidal war waged during the 1990s by Croatia, while there is no question of "operation storm" being a just people’s liberation. The fact is that it was ethnic cleansing pure and simple.

After these resolutions have been adopted, it is clear that the Croatian regime’s call for the refugees to come back to their abandoned villages is as incongruous as ever. Both Resolutions are a ridiculous political ploy.

The European made neo-McCarthysm shall not change the truth about the grate achievements of Real Socialism in our country and will not prevent the unavoidable renaissance of Socialism and the expulsion of the current pro-imperialist puppet regimes in the Balkans.

Call for action in solidarity with Peter Handke

Declaration of NKPJ (Serbia), PRCF (France) and PRC (Italy)

Antifascists of the world - unit!

Long live the Dreamer of the Ninth Country!

We have seen fratricidal war unleashed by Hitler’s New World Order reborn, a war waged by every weapon of destruction, by every savagery; we have seen forced expulsion of entire populations.

We have seen one big country wiped off the map by the “international community" and, again by decree of the “international community” replaced by six puppet banana republics, and there may be two more to come. All of them are based on the blood principle, the founding idea of the SS.

We have seen Nazis sanctified, passenger trains rocketed by NATO bombers, we have seen arms smuggled in ambulances, we have seen migrant exploitation and delocalization, we have seen what once was one and the same language, labeled as four or five, we have seen peoples for centuries living on their own territory, stigmatized as “aggressors” and foreigners coming thousands of miles to drop depleted uranium bombs

calling themselves “liberators”, we have seen cigarette-smugglers rewarded with fiefdoms, a rape of a man refusing to sell up his land, we have seen the bodies of the kidnapped refused to their loved ones for proper burial, we have seen medieval frescoes hammered to smithereens, bridges pulverized by cannon fire, beheadings, the poor people houses stolen for the foreign investors benefit, history re-written to demonize the Liberation partisans and rehabilitate viziers and landlords.

Think you have seen all of it? Putting poets on the Index of Prohibited Books was still to come. As a matter of fact, the greatest living playwright of contemporary German theatre is stripped of his honors and awards and his play is cancelled. No, not “down there” in the “Balkan powder keg” but right here, in the civilized France and Germany, in the Europe, that would call itself of Voltaire and Goethe. It is here, in the land of the Commission, that bearing witness to the above mentioned and horrors is considered a mortal sin.

It is here, in the land of the International tribunals, that wittiness is forbidden, even to travel or talk to people you are not supposed to. It is here that it is prohibited to treat “the enemy” as a human being, to speak to him and to understand. The mortal sin of the poet Handke is that of bearing witness - as he explained - to the funerals of Slobodan Milosevic. Indeed, Milosevic, the exclusive scapegoat for the whole Yugoslav drama "Europe" wants to absolve her crimes with. Indeed Milosevic, the one that resisted the devastating arrogance of “Europe”, even to be killed by it.

This “Europe” that creates mortal enemies out of its own bosom is repulsive. Without Yugoslavia, Europe is repulsive and never shall belong to us.

Handke refers to the “Ninth Country” as a metaphor of Yugoslavia in 1991 in his first work about the Yugoslav tragedy. We are very much in a need of “dreamers of the Ninth Country” like Handke. All our admiration, respect and solidarity go to him!

Peter Handke:”Yugoslavia, however riven it was by problems, could have been the model for a Europe of the future. The Europe of today cannot. This Europe may have its “free trade” zones, but former Yugoslavia was a place where diverse nationalities lived mixed one with another, and specially the young people, even so after the death of Tito. That would be Europe, as I would want it. For me the very image of Europe is destroyed with the destruction of Yugoslavia”.

16 YEARS OF THE NEW COMMUNIST PARTY OF YUGOSLAVIA (NKPJ)

Activists, members, and sympathizers of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) and the League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) on Friday 30 June 2006 celebrated the 16th anniversary of the founding of the party in Belgrade. We have the honor and obligation to be the vanguard of the Yugoslav working class, farmers and progressive intelligentsia.

From its founding the NKPJ has found itself totally blockaded by the bourgeois media and finances itself exclusively by the membership and voluntary donations. This is by no means the case with the capitalist parties in these territories, which receive their money from rich sponsors inside the country and abroad. Besides these objective difficulties, NKPJ proudly carries the red proletarian flag, and represents the aspirations of the Yugoslav working class to oppose counter-revolutionary processes and aggressive attacks from the West.

The Party and its youth wing, SKOJ from day to day raise their voices ever louder against the capitalist and pro-imperial regimes now in power in former Yugoslavia.

The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia will never accept the rapacious process of privatization on the territory of Serbia, and will therefore always insist that every privatization of state and social property is a robbery of property that took our grandfathers and fathers, members of the working class, decades to create.

The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia takes a stand categorically against privatization, the policy of thievery in the other Yugoslav republics as well.

The New Communist Party (NKPJ) will never accept the entry of Serbia into the imperialist creatures of the European Union and NATO, for that will be a loss for the interests of the nation and the working class, and the working class would suffer the greatest exploitation that has ever been the case.

The NKPJ will never accept the imperialist occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina or Kosovo and Metohija, not to speak of the demolition of Serbia for the sake of imperialist goals in the Balkans.

The NKPJ will never accept the attempts of the imperialists to separate Kosovo from Serbia and in that way change the borders in Europe that were established after the Second World War.

This is the position taken by the world communist movement, to which the NKPJ belongs.

The NKPJ will never accept the disintegration of the state union of Serbia and Montenegro, just as it never accepted the dissolution of federal Yugoslavia (SFRJ) and our socialist homeland.

The NKPJ will continue its struggle for the renewal of socialism and Yugoslavia in all six former republics of Yugoslavia.

The NKPJ will continue its support of socialist regimes in the world, in China, the Democratic Republic of Korea, Viet Nam, Laos, and Cuba.

The NKPJ will continue to fulfill its international duty with the support to the anti-imperialist struggle around the world.

The NKPJ as a Marxist-Leninist party stands proudly in the mainstream of the international movement in the struggle for socialism and the communist perspective.

The League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) as an integral part of the Party will participate in all its actions and initiatives and will be its most militant wing as befits the young.

For Socialism!

"We do not accept the imperialist break-up of Serbia and
Montenegro"

Western imperialism, led by the USA, in the referendum of 21 May 2006 in Montenegro unfortunately realized its destructive goal of creating the project begun in 1990 of totally smashing the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which was the equal-rights union of Yugoslav nations and ethnic minorities and the first socialist state in the history of Yugoslavia.
The first phase of the final blow of western imperialism on the remnants of Yugoslavia was carried out on 4 February 2003, when the bourgeois pro-imperialist counter-revolutionary regimes in Belgrade and Podgorica resolved to terminate the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and the second and final phase was executed this past Sunday in the "referendum" in Podgorica. Although the League of communist youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ), as the youth movement of the new Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ), categorically stood against the dissolution of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and against the creation of the union of con-federal creatures of Serbia and Montenegro under the control of the pro-imperialist regime in Belgrade and Podgorica. SKOJ supported the call of the Party to working people, anti-imperialists, patriots and progressive citizens in Montenegro to make clear their opposition to the secession of Montenegro, primarily because something so retrograde was the primary goal of western imperialism under the leadership of the USA.

The goal of western imperialism is to realize political, economic, and military expansion to the east, toward Russia, among other things, and to destroy the unity of Serbia and Montenegro was also demolish the mutual tolerance between the working class of Montenegro and the working class of Serbia.

SKOJ unshakably stands on the positions of the International Communist Youth against change of borders in the Balkans that were established after the Second World War. The policy "the worse, the better" is the basic idea of western imperialism on the territory of former Yugoslavia.

SKOJ expresses deep regret and bitterness at the destruction of the state of Serbia and Montenegro by the fraudulent "referendum" perpetrated under the umbrella of the European Union.

Many unassailable facts show that the secession of Montenegro had been planned jointly by Djukanovic's pro-imperialist bourgeois regime with the leadership of the EU and the USA. Numerous moves and measures of the pro-imperialist government in Podgorica on the eve and in the course of the referendum were undertaken by arrangement with the western masters.

The referendum question in large measure suggests an answer in favor of termination of the common state.
Besides that, the organizers of the "referendum" had to resort to gross fabrications together with the active participation of EU representatives Lajcik and Lipka.

Also, on the eve of the "referendum" Djukanovic's pro-imperialist separatist regime used the controlled pupprt-state media to intensify the separatist atmosphere and anti-Serb mood.

Many examples were recorded of arrests of anti-secession activists and of attempts to falsify lists of voters, as well as other irregularities. Montenegro's citizens resident in Serbia were denied their right to vote on 21 May. Milo Djukanovic's and Montenegro's pro-imperialist campaign was also supported by some pro-imperialist bourgeois parties in Serbia, the most influential being the part of the regime in power in Belgrade.

SKOJ, with disgust, rejects the recognition by the Belgrade regime of the "referendum" results. This clearly shows, despite their pro-forma support of a unified state their pro-imperialist orientation.

The people of Serbia and Montenegro are fore-ordained by destiny to live in a unified state and to share the good and the bad.

The idea of living together in one state is eternal and will outlive the secessionists and traitors of all stripes. The day will come when the working class of Montenegro and the working class of Serbia will unite and say NO to their pro-imperialist rulers and extend the hand to their proletarian brothers and sisters from the territory of our socialist fatherland, the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, in the struggle for true freedom, equality and independence. This will come about only by driving out imperialism from our territory.

Long live the brotherhood and unity of Serbia and Montenegro!
Long live the brotherhood and unity of the peoples of the Socialist
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia!
The Balkans belongs to the Balkan peoples!

Central Committee of the League of Yugoslav Communist Youth (SKOJ) May 24, 2006.

REMEMBERING NATO AGGRESSION AGAINST FR YUGOSLAVIA

From 24 March to 11 June 1999, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and its 12 million inhabitants were faced with the ruthless attack of the strongest military force in the world. Bearing in mind the human potential of the aggressors 764 million inhabitants, the ratio was 1:70. The territorial ratio was 1:234, and economic 1:676. A comparison of the military might is impossible to set, due to the absolute, qualitative and quantitative disproportion between the aggressor and its victim.

During the NATO war against FR Yugoslavia, nearly 27.000 sorties were made. More than 8.200 involved the use of weaponry. About 2.300 strikes were carried out against 995 sites ("targets") in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

A significant number of infrastructure facilities have been destroyed, more than 50 bridges were demolished, and The Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS) in the heart of Belgrade was bombed, causing the death of 17 RTS employees. The Novi Sad Radio-Television building was also destroyed, as well as several electronic media, when the "Usce" business tower in Belgrade was targeted. 37 radio and TV relay towers and broadcasting facilities have been bombed. The telephone-telecommunication installations throughout the country were also raided. The list includes the TV tower on Mt. Avala, relay towers on Mt. Kopaonik, Mt. Jastrebac and Mt. Cer, the "Prilike" satellite station near Ivanjica, and the post office buildings in Uzice and Pristina. The aggressor planes bombed 53 medical facilities, and direct hits or aftereffects of bombing damaged or destroyed more than 300 preschool facilities, schools and tourism facilities. the "Dr. Dragisa Misovic" Hospital, the Surdulica Health Center, the Nis Clinical Center, the "Marija Bursac" elementary school in Belgrade, the elementary schools in Resnik, Batajnica and Rakovica, the "Jugoslavija" Hotel in Belgrade and the "Baciste" Hotel on Mt. Kopaonik are just a few examples of what the military structures pharisaically called legitimate military objective or collateral damage.

On the record is also the bombing of the embassy of PR China in Belgrade, where three Chinese citizens were killed.

The overall damage to the economy and infrastructure is estimated at 100 billion dollars.

Making war against FR Yugoslavia, NATO breached dozens of international conventions, amongst others the convention on damages caused by oil pollution, on benzol poisoning, on the prevention of cancer risks, on transborder air-pollution over great distances, on the ozone layer protection, on the preservation of flora and fauna...

Out of the 1.200 civilians killed, 30% were children, and out of the 5.000 wounded, as much as 40% were children.

Aggression against FRY was NATO imperialist war. The goal of Western imperialists was very clear: the occupation and installation of troops on territories of Kosovo and Metohija.

SKOJ thanks all communist parties, workers' organizations and revolutionary and liberation mouvements for their actions in support of SR Yugoslavia against NATO aggressor. We, the communists of Yugoslavia, shall never forget the internationalist solidarity of our comrades all over the world.

Former president of Serbia and FR Yugoslavia Slobodan Milosevic is death.

Slobodan Milosevic was anti-imperialist fighter. He show the world the truth about the aggression by the western powers against Yugoslavia, he was symbol of resistance to the new fascism.

For this crime, the Hague tribunal is directly responsible, by its denial to allow his medical treatment in Moscow, in spite of his critical medical condition.

We demand from the UN General Secretary to immediately suspend the works of this criminal institution, and from the UN Security Council we demand to abolish it.

We demand from bourgeoisie's pro-Western Serbian regime to immediately cut any cooperation with the imperialist Hague tribunal.

In this hard hour we wish strength to family, the people of Yugoslavia and all independent minds that were and will be involved in the struggle against enslavement, shallowness and imperialist arrogance. The guilty ones must be punished.

Declaration of the Secretariat of the League of Yugoslav Communist Youth (SKOJ)

A resolution has been proposed for adoption by the Council of Europe in which the social system Socialism that existed on the territory of the former USSR and in Eastern and Central Europe is slandered as an evil equal to fascism.
The resolution is an insult to millions of victims who lost their lives in the struggle for the freedom of humanity, for liberation of peoples from colonial slavery and for human equality.

This infamous resolution amounts to a new Inquisition. The target for assassination is European communists who are now duly elected representatives in the parliaments of nearly all European countries. It is the beginning of a new wave of anti-communist hysteria, like the red scare in Senator McCarthys America.

That Resolution threatens existing socialist states and unjustifiably brands them as "massive violators of human rights". The Council of Europe Resolution calls for the destruction of "those totalitarian regimes which are still functioning". At the very least this constitutes interference in the internal affairs of sovereign countries that exist today and violates the right of states to self-determination of their own path of economic development.

According to the Declaration of the United Nations on Human Rights, the most important one is the right to life. Meanwhile, nowhere in the world is life more threatened than in the United States and the other highly developed capitalist nations and the countries they hold in colonial subjection. The USA and the other leading capitalist countries have the highest murder rates, the most drug addiction and prostitution, and the greatest number of prison inmates.

Never in the USSR and former socialist countries were there so many citizens incarcerated as are jailed every year in the USA. The right to work proclaimed by the UN Declaration rings hollow if society is not obliged to secure a work place for every citizen. That was never accomplished by any Western state, but it was achieved in the socialist countries. The passage of the resolution of the Council of Europe is just yet another sign of the fear of a revival of socialism in Europe and in the world at large as well as of the establishment of new socialist states.

Especially if one keeps in mind the ever increasing influence of the communist left, not only in Europe, but also on the other continents, especially in Latin America. It is no surprise when anticommunist resolutions are adopted when they are proposed by the most conservative factions in the UN Assembly, especially the racist parties of Europe. Only the interests of the fat cat capitalists matters to them. This is all happening precisely now when the anti-globalist movement in the world is stronger than ever and when working class protests are better and better organized. In Latin America, Venezuela and Bolivia Marxists have come to power by parliamentary means.

This shameful Council of Europe resolution unmasks the naked fear of The Western political parties, especially the nationalists. A red come-back is inevitable, because of the injustices of exploitative Western society. Anti-communists in fact never opposed dictatorship or human rights violations. For them the enemy was and still is the left. They target workers movements and anyone who questioned capitalism and imperialism. For decades the Soviet Union embodied the eternal nightmare of the ruling classes the fear that the workers might come to power.

The Council of Europe is out to re-write history by this resolution, to falsify truth and put all in the same basket victims and tormentors. Communists are lumped together with Nazis.

The Turbo-capitalism which was imposed after the fall of the Berlin wall has to justify itself by blaming socialism for all evils.
Capitalism in the last century spawned two world wars and a chain of major and minor conflicts. Of the more than 326 wars and greater armed conflicts after the Second World War, the USA participated in, organized or supported 311 massive blood-lettings in which over 30 million people were killed and more than 100 million wounded. Where is justice? Who is condemning the crimes committed against the children of Viet Nam, the Peoples Republic of Korea, against Yugoslavia and Iraq? Who protests the fate of the victims of fascism and colonialist oppression? All we get is silence and cover-up. It all began with the American Revolution by privileged land owners; it continued in the Indian wars, the Mexican War and in more than 500 major armed conflicts provoked by the Free World.

In two World Wars and in many armed conflicts after World War II, through terror in the USA a total of 200 million people have been killed and many more permanently maimed. An examination of conscience is in order for the Parliamentarians of the Council of Europe. In the Spanish Civil War of the 1930s who died fighting for the democratic republic?

Who organized the resistance against Nazi occupation? Who fought against post-war fascism in Spain, Portugal, Greece, Rhodesia and South Africa? Those regimes were all supported by the United States in the name of Anti-communism. Why are hordes of people dying every day all around Asia, Africa, and South America from HIV, malaria, tuberculosis, typhus, and hunger, while the imperialist powers waste billions of dollars on armaments?

The Marxist-Leninists have not been destroyed by anti-communists, and they had better know that, be they fascists or anyone else who thinks they can get away with it.

INTERNATIONALS DOCUMENTS

INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR DECLARATION

The participants of the International Seminar supported by WFDY  of communist, anti-imperialist and progressive youth organizations (EDON –UJDL -UJCE-JCP-KNE -GUPS-YOUTH OF TKP -FGCIT-YS CROATIA-SKOJ -Norway KU -RKSM(B) C.Y POLAND-) on the border of the 32nd Festival of KNE – Odigitis , denounce the barbaric attack at Lebanon, and the continuing slaughter in Palestine, delivered by Israel, applying the imperialist NATOic plan for the New Middle East, which has been planned and promoted by the USA, with the help of their willing allies. The objective of this plan is the imperialist control in the Middle East, a region with enormous geo-strategic importance.
This attempt is made with various ways; on this occasion with barbaric bombings and massacre and criminal blockades as the ones in Lebanon and Palestine on other occasions with the so-called diplomatic means, in the name of a false peace, intervening in order to achieve what they have not achieved on the field of warfare. Simultaneously they continue to threat by every means states, governments and peoples that deny approving them like Syria, Iran, P.R of Korea etc. At the same time, the threats towards Cuba and Venezuela are coming to a climax.
The attacks against the rights and the struggle of the youth for education, employment and life with rights are strengthening.
Facing this situation, we salute and express our unreserved solidarity to the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples. The resistance of the peoples of the Middle East fills with optimism and courage the peoples and the youth of the whole world. It is the evidence that action of the masses can be successful in blocking the imperialist planning. We stand solid in the fight that the 5 Cuban heroes are giving for 8 years in the prisons of Miami, held captive by the USA. The organizations of the Middle East region that are among us today, have had a pioneering and distinctive contribution in the organization of the struggle of the youth in the region, of the young workers, university students and students in general, facing extremely difficult circumstances.
We are inspired by the heroic sacrifice of the 5 members and cadres martyrs of UDYL that have been added to the long catalogue of more than 1000 people victims of the attacks in Lebanon and Palestine, which more than 5000 Palestinian died since starting of Indifanda .We underline also the resistance against American occupation in Iraq.
The solidarity mobilizations that have been organized all over the world, the contribution of the Communist, Anti-imperialist and progressive youth organizations with the coordination of WFDY played the first role in orientating this fight so against the savage imperialist interventionist war as on the side of peoples’ resistance and struggle. Young people coming down on the streets everywhere in the world denounced the attack on Lebanon and Palestine, and now they have to realize politically that imperialism, which deprives them of their right for spherical education, for fixed job with every right, for democratic rights is the same that is responsible for the wars.
We undertake that we will continue with even more persistence in our attempt that the youth movement will contribute in the fight for Israel to leave of all the Lebanese and the Palestinian, Syrian and all Arab lands according the UN resolutions, as they were before 1967, as decreed by the resolutions of the UN. It is also important to exercise the highest pressure to realize all Arab prisoners.  The peoples of the region should be able to determine their future.
We join our voices and act all together in the first line of the mobilization of mass youth organizations, preparing solidarity initiatives all over the world with the support and coordination of WFDY, especially in the Middle East region, and of course we  will give all our efforts to prepare a big international event of celebrating the anniversary of the 60 years of having World Festivals of Youth and students ,in Venezuela in 2007.

Long live international solidarity.
Long live the struggle of the youth and the peoples against imperialism.

FINAL DECLARATION OF 16TH FESTIVAL OF YOUTH AND STUDENTS

The 16th World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS) was successfully held in Caracas, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, from 7 to 15 August 2005, continuing with the Festivals movement and reinforcing it as the largest and the most significant political, cultural, anti-imperialist event organized by world progressive and democratic youth and student forces.
This sixteenth Festival welcomed more than 17.000 delegates of local, national, regional and international organizations from 144 countries, representing millions of young people and students from all over the world. Youth gathered without differences of ages, ideological background, gender, ethnic and social origin participated in varied and numerous activities of the 16th WFYS. This Youth, in the previous months, during the preparatory process, realizing the necessities of the political moment, they managed to stimulate a great mobilization and ample spaces of debate in hundreds of different cities and countries, uniting wills under the slogan that brought us to Caracas: “For Peace and Solidarity, We Struggle against Imperialism and War!”
Nowadays, four years after the fruitful 15th WFYS, held in Algeria, the world’s imperialist forces, with the United States (US) government in the frontline, have undertaken an aggressive and despicable offensive, indiscriminately trying to remove all obstacles on their way to consolidate their global power. This Festival took place at a historical moment for mankind, in a continent that has made imperialism taste decisive defeats, in a country that blazes a path of hope, within the framework of the tradition of solidarity and struggle of the Festivals movement, reaffirming its firm position between the two main trends are confronting each other: on the one side, imperialism with its interventionist and war policies and, on the other, the peoples who struggle for their inalienable rights.
The events of September 11, 2001, have been used by the US government and its allies as a pretext to launch an escalation of its imperialist campaign of world domination, disguised as a supposed “war on terror” and “struggle for freedom” against a fictitious “axis of evil”, through which it strives to impose its social, economical, cultural and ideological laws. Such events and their consequences have marked imperialist tactics during the past four years, serving the redoubling of expansionist policies, which are characterized by permanent contradictions and alliances among imperialist centers – the US, European Union (EU) and Japan. This constantly intensifying imperialist aggressiveness has made use of all tried-and-true methods to achieve its goals: blockades, provocation of conflicts, threats of interventions, military intervention, wars and occupations, undertaken against countries and movements. This aggressiveness has also generated an escalation of the, attacks on people’s rights and liberties. In order to justify all this, imperialism uses the media, the educational system, art, recreation and other mechanisms to unfold a sophisticated ideological offensive that provides the theoretical and moral basis for the abovementioned measures. What is especially alarming is that this offensive, waged on many fronts, affects - for the most part – young people sometimes from the time of childhood. The insolent effort to present resistance as a form of violence and struggle as a form of terrorism is very old, but the peoples are not confused; in spite of the continuous distortion of reality and the howling provocations used to achieve this end, resistance movements have grown and have been strengthened.  This aggressiveness is by no means accidental. It stems from imperialism’s structural inability to come up with solutions to the needs of the vast majority of the world’s population and at the same time to perpetuate its existence. This aggressiveness is expressed on different levels: At the economic level, it implies a strategic restructuring of its function (known as neo-liberal policies) in order to increase exploitation and competitiveness; At the military level, in order to secure control over markets and resources; At the political level, in order to secure its rule over the people; At the ideological level, in order to prevent dispute of its perpetuity. Imperialism is not invincible, as it presents itself; on the contrary its continuously deepening crisis is structural, and its aggressiveness has no way out but its complete overthrow by the peoples.
Despite imperialism’s ideological offensive, progressive and peace loving forces grow stronger and emerge again with more determination. We, conscious young people and students of the world, are aware of the historical role we play, and we have been gathering in the World Festivals of Youth and Students since 1947 to reaffirm the principles of our struggle, to exchange ideas and set down referential bases to guide our regional and international actions, for the liberation of humanity from all types of oppression, discrimination and imperialistic domination, to have justice and freedom prevail for all peoples. The organization, awareness and mobilization of world youth and students have been on the rise. Wherever imperialism has intervened, encroaching on liberties and rights of the peoples, it has met with worthy resistance. The more it tries to encroach upon peoples’ independence, sovereignty and right to self-determination, the more forms of resistance the peoples find to oppose its interests. Thus, our first commitment has been and will always be with the people, with the young people and students that suffer the most as a result of imperialist policies.
Every day, the resistance against imperialism and capitalism gains more supporters before the evidence that this system is nonviable and in light of its inability to solve and meet the problems, necessities and interests of young people and students. Therefore, the local, national, regional and international, progressive, anti-neoliberal, anti-imperialist organizations, the youth in general, have increasingly mobilized themselves against warmongering machineries, against the invasions and occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq; against imperialist plans to reorder the world and its attempts to change the geopolitical map to its own benefit; against imperialist meddling in the internal affairs of countries; against the alienating and interventionist policies of G-8, NATO, the IMF, the WB, the WTO, the EU, the FTA, the FTAA; against debts and militarism; against military bases and intervention plans, such as Guantanamo and “Plan Colombia”; against the systematic use of torture and the violation of human rights with impunity.
This year, while commemorating the 60th anniversary of the criminal bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, imperialism continues showing its aggressive nature. But, it comforts us the fact that among the great experiences of the 20th century, we are also celebrating 60 years of the anti-fascist people’s victory and the founding of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), two events that are intimately linked and which embody an unshakable commitment to peace and solidarity and honor the memory of the millions of lives who have upheld these principles over the years, events that marked the beginning of profound social transformations, the process of decolonization and changes in the world’s balance of forces. As we invoke the glorious victory of the Vietnamese people over imperialism three decades ago, its subsequent economic and social achievements, our struggles and the experience we have accumulated, we are filled with hope and confidence that now, as at those times, we will overcome the difficulties and that the people shall emerge victorious.
In various forms and throughout the world, young people fight against exploitation, blockades, embargos, sanctions, and all forms of discrimination and fundamentalism. We are committed to and struggle for a world of peace, free from nuclear weapons; for a different socio-economic system that holds the human being as a center and main maker, a system based on social justice, national sovereignty, independence, self-determination, democracy, security, international solidarity and cooperation. We demand respect for and call for the defense of human rights, women’s rights, sexual and reproductive rights, sustainable development and the environment. We demand that everyone should have access to employment, labor rights, education, health care, sports, culture and technology. We are optimistic because there are reasons to be optimistic, because we defend and we fight for just causes, because we have managed to make progresses, because we face and surpass difficulties with the joyful spirit and the rebelliousness that characterizes young people.
Imperialism is attempting to impose a unilateral and calculating view of human rights which benefits the interests of large corporations and transnational capital over the interests of the people, a system in which for example even US citizens themselves endure the repressive policies of a racist, exclusivist and alienating order, against which they are rebelling.  Humanity’s most fundamental right is the right to life and everything that sustains it, especially the right to freely decide the type of society it wants to live in, and its inalienable right to fight to build such a society. Imperialism denies peoples these rights in many ways, through international capitalist structures, subverting the role of the United Nations (UN) and, if need be, by waging wars of occupation as it did in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and Iraq. Imperialism wants to build a new world totalitarian order against the youth, the workers and the peoples.
We demand the closing down of all foreign military bases, the abolition of all nuclear, chemical and biological weapons and nuclear tests. We demand the reduction of military budgets, which have been increasing, especially in the United States of America.
Imperialist warmongering policies produce such harms as refugees, millions of people who are compelled to leave their homes, lands, jobs and families. Also the economic policies of hunger produce emigrants, the majority of them move to developed capitalist countries illegally and are treated as slaves something that is a shame for humanity.
We must urgently mobilize the people to exert international pressure for a true democratization of the United Nations, opposing the US and its allies in their attempts to impose reforms that consolidate the use of this multilateral organization as an international tool to legitimize their interventionist actions, in stead of complying with its obligation to seek a real balance among the world’s nations, giving them equal rights and duties, and empowering the General Assembly.
Imperialism also undermines the conditions of education for the youth, encouraging the exclusion and desertion of formal education. Nowadays, 113 millions of children don’t go to school and 130 millions of young people are illiterate. Against its commercialization, we demand full access to public, free and quality education.
Scientific and technological breakthroughs that should be considered the property of humanity are retained and restricted in their use by capitalism. The Internet continues to be inaccessible to the vast majority. For example, Sub-Saharan Africa has a mere 0, 1% of the world’s internet connections, while it consists of 10% of the world’s population. We demand that science and technological breakthroughs be used to benefit of youth and peoples, instead of being used as one more way of profit. Access to basic services continues to be severely limited – two billion people around the world don’t have access to electricity.
The development of the mass media and other information channels does not reflect a process of democratization with respect to access to and the production of information and culture. Most of the world’s information centers are in the hands of transnational companies, and the content of this information is determined by the class interests of the dominant ideology and against the interests of young people and students. In this global battle, the people’s counteroffensive cannot be waged exclusively on the economic field; it must also be fought at the ideological level, which is being used for the alienation and domination, especially of young people, mainly by creating false needs and promote individualism. Therefore, our educational and cultural efforts must be promoted by all possible means; these efforts have made much progress in recent years, and allow as reach more people day by day.
Nowadays, capitalism and imperialism, in deep crisis, are eliminating the majority of labor rights, especially those of young workers who suffer more the effects of unemployment. We fight for the right to jobs with rights. We support the organized struggle of young workers for the defense of the interests of all of the people by strengthening the trade union movement, against all new forms of exploitation before the intention to create a new, dehumanized generation that is deprived of rights of any type.
The peoples have an inalienable right to avail ourselves of the planet’s wealth and resources and to use them - in a rational way which does not harm the environment – in order to cover the urgent needs of the three quarters of the humanity. Imperialism uses wars, promotes internal conflicts and State terrorism as tools to seize our nations’ wealth. Currently, 40% of the world’s population does not have access to basic sanitary conditions. More than 1 billion people do not have access to reliable sources of drinkable water. Among them, five million people, mostly children, die each year as a result of diseases closely associated to this problem.
The gap between the richest and poorest sectors of the population grows wider. More than one billion people in the world live on less than one US dollar per day. Every three and a half seconds, another person dies of starving; the large majority of these people are children.
Capitalism’s planetary scope also results in the uneven distribution of the world’s economic power. The 24 richest countries held 85% of the world’s riches. An unfair international division of work and the existence of “foreign debts” make countries in debt dependent on richer countries. The situation of so-called “underdeveloped countries” is the result of the relations of domination that capitalist centers impose on these nations. The perpetuation of these relations of dependency is vital to capitalism.
South-South cooperation is a strategic need for our people that have already achieved positive results against the monopoly interests of great powers. We have to promote all possible ways for exchange, communication and coordinated action among youth and student organizations, and the people in general, in order to collectively assume the challenge of following the path of development, which responds to their own needs and objectives.
Ten million young people live with AIDS, mostly in Africa and Asia. Every year, around 3 million people die of malaria. We demand free and universal access to health care for the youth and the peoples, as the only way of guaranteeing the human right to health.
These alarming figures, published in the United Nations’ World Youth Report 2005, attest even more that we must fight against the causes of these harms. By bringing closer the overthrow of imperialism and exploitation, we are saving human lives.
We must strengthen links among different social sectors, especially among young people, in which young workers, women, students, farmers, indigenous people and popular movements pursue their specific objectives in an ever more concerted manner, taking in other sectors and working with the conviction that collective achievements and progress will benefit everyone because the national conquests contribute to the global struggle against imperialism. We must participate in and strengthen local, national, regional and international anti-neoliberal, anti-globalization, anti-capitalist or anti-imperialist joint spaces, aiming to gather the organizations and the vast masses of poor people, which are more directly impacted by the current international order, having common objectives, exchanging our experiences and increasing our social influence.
We express our solidarity towards the people and youth of Iraq in their struggle and resistance against imperialist occupation forces. We demand the immediate withdrawal of these forces and the preservation of Iraqi sovereignty and unity. We denounce imperialism’s and its agents’ repressive policies in the region and demand the immediate release of all political prisoners. We denounce imperialist attempts at changing the geopolitical map through the “Great Middle East Project”, which uses discretionary criteria to select the countries that, according to its interests, are proclaimed to beruled by dictatorships and, therefore, require “democratic” change. To achieve its aims, US interventionist efforts rely on the servile support of Israel’s Zionist government, which plays a destabilizing role in the region and acts as an agent which indiscriminately eliminates resistance movements in the region. We therefore express our solidarity with the Palestinian people and youth in their struggle for the right to have an independent State with Jerusalem as its capital city and their right to stand up to the forces of occupation; we demand the return of refugees as per relevant UN resolutions and call upon the international community to support the struggle for the immediate dismantling of the apartheid wall which Israel is constructing in occupied territories of Palestine. We express our solidarity with the Syrian youth and people in their struggle and right to stand up against Israeli occupation, and demand its urgently and immediately withdraw from the “Syrian Golan”. We repudiate the US Congress’ extraterritorial decisions against Syria. We condemn imperialism’s meddling in Lebanese internal affairs and its attempts to provoke instability in the county and the region; we support the struggle of Lebanese youth and people that stand up and fight for the liberation of Lebanese “Cheeba Farms” occupied by Israel, and we demand the immediate withdrawal of these forces from the region. We express our solidarity with the people and youth of Morocco in their struggle for the liberation of Sebta y Melilla, occupied by Spain.
The people and youth of Europe, affected by the growing hegemony of the European Union, have a day by day strongly feel in their lives its true imperialist character, which also affects all young people around the world. We express our solidarity: towards the peoples of the Balkans, who for years have endured the consequences of war and the constant intervention of NATO and the EU; towards Cypriots, Greeks and Turkish Cypriots, in their struggle for reunification and we underline the urgent need to end the Turkish occupation and find a peaceful, viable and functional solution to the Cyprus problem, based on International Law and all relevant UN resolutions, acceptable to both communities; towards the struggle of the Irish people for the withdrawal of the British army, and for a united, independent Ireland; towards the parties, movements and militants that are facing persecution and restrictions, especially in Eastern Europe; towards the children, youth and people of former socialist countries, who, in recent years, have endured an alarming situation characterized by hunger, misery, unemployment, illiteracy, drug abuse, lack of essential medical services and the absence of democratic rights, all as a result of capitalist restoration; towards the millions of refugees and immigrants living in European Fortress who are constantly overexploited, treated as lowlifes and used as a pretext for the implementation of reactionary measures, to the detriment of all people and youth; towards all the peoples and the youth in the continent that work and fight against imperialist domination and exploitation.
We call upon the young people of the world to express their solidarity towards Korean youth for the reunification of its country under the principles of independence, peace, national unity and the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, and denounce the presence of US troops under parallel 38 in addition to its permanent policy of destabilization in the region. We express our solidarity towards the people and youth of Nepal in their struggle for democracy and human rights. We demand the return of all Bhutanese refuges to their country with respect and dignity. We express our solidarity towards the struggle of student, youth, and democratic movements in Myanmar, for democracy and against the military junta and the repressive actions undertaken against its people. We express support for Sri Lanka’s progressive movements struggle for national unity and against imperialist attempts at dividing the country and destabilizing the region. We salute the Vietnamese youth and people in their struggle for national independence and socialism, at a time when the 60th anniversary of the birth of their sovereign republic is celebrated, and we express our solidarity towards the Vietnamese victims of the US’ Agent Orange / Dioxin in their struggle for justice.
The main root cause of the problems of young people in Africa has been the imperialist forces that parade themselves as saviors and lovers of this continent but have in fact plunged Africa into never ending warfare and internal conflict in attempts at retaining its rich natural resources. We support the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD) as a tool and plan that might contribute to promoting common understanding, peace, political stability and development among African nations and solve common problems faced by their peoples. We urge young people around the world to step up their fight against imperialism and neo-colonialism, placing special emphasis on
